Blue Cuckoo started life in 2016 as an editing house for documentary editor Bjørn Johnson.
Over the following years, we were engaged on a number of high profile projects including Trainwreck: Woodstock '99, Bad Sport, Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn,
Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland and many others.
After developing and co-directing the Grierson nominated Memory Box: Echoes of 9/11 in 2021 , we began the transition into independent production, with the ethos of telling compelling and visually gripping factual stories and working with filmmakers who share our passion and creativity.

Key to that vision were the appointments of Alexander Brunati and Annie Macnee, who were brought in to bolster our development slate and to assemble a core team of creatives who will help drive individual projects forward.

Blue Cuckoo welcomes collaborations and co-productions with first-time filmmakers,
and will openly support imaginative projects which share our values and vision.
